About Pintabians & Arabians

Pintabian horses are high percentage Arabian horses that have one ancestor with pinto coloring. They are not simply a cross of an Arabian and a pinto horse; instead they are developed through generations of selective breeding. Every generation that a Pintabian is crossed with an Arabian results in a higher percentage Arabian pinto foal. Pintabians are pinto colored horses with 99% (or higher) Arabian blood.

1/2 Arabian = 50% Arabian blood
3/4 Arabian = 75% Arabian blood
7/8 Arabian = 87.5% Arabian blood
15/16 Arabian = 93.75% Arabian blood
31/32 Arabian = 96.875% Arabian blood
63/64 Arabian = 98.4375% Arabian blood
127/128 Arabian = 99.21875% Arabian blood
